Desk Centre’s product selection team have been working over time researching new products that we feel would benefit our customers. We will be introducing a number of new products for the education market that will put a different spin on teaching. Creating flexible teaching environments for the modern teaching methods.
Desk Centre were recently awar d500,000 contract to fit out Orpington College. In the face of stiff competition along with a rigorous tender process Desk Centre came out on top. This is another example of Desk Centre’s commitment and continued growth within the educational sector.
Desk Centre environmental credentials have been brought to the fore again. We have invested further into our Carbon Neutral programme, with a two year commitment / programme in conjunction with the Carbon Neutral Company. Our aim is is to reduce our carbon emissions by a further 15% over the next 12 months.
Our intrepid Desk Centre team namely Chris our IT Manager and Paul our Warehouse Supervisor were part of the 7000 Santa’s who ran through the streets of Liverpool City Centre to raise thousands of pounds for Charity. Chris and Paul were running to raise money for Claire House, and raised £237.
Desk Centre continues to show the way in promoting furniture to the Educational marketplace that complies with the latest European Standards. Our new Educational range in our 2009 catalogue complies with the latest standard EN1729, which encourages improved posture, strength and stability.
Desk Centre have teamed up with another leading UK manufacturer in Connection Seating, based in Huddersfield they provide a range of high quality seating products at a competitive rate. Our 2009 catalogue will reflect Connection’s new IS chair along with the Quad and Shell from their soft seating collection. We also have new collections from Gresham with their Lifestyle range of café and refectory furniture, also Sella Seating with their re-launch of the popular ACF range.
Bradford College officially opened the doors on its new Trinity Green Campus in September. The £20m development will house the college’s Sport, Engineering and Construction departments. The development is expected to be one of the most innovative and ambitious in the country. Manchester University's latest building project incorporates SCAN - a drum-shaped landmark building designed by John McAslan and Partners, which will house the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. The building is the Universities largest project to date, and after months of rigorous negotiations Desk Centre were awarded the contract to supply all the furniture from Offices and Breakout Areas to the Restaurant and Meeting Rooms.

The Purchasing Consortium comprises 24 universities including Newcastle, Leicester, Leeds and Bradford and covers a massive geographical region from Tyneside right down to Leicestershire. It is another example of Desk Centres commitment and continued growth within the education sector. Our installation teams operating from our newly opened branch in Leeds will help maintain the highest service levels that our customers have come to expect of the Desk Centre.

Desk Centre to the rescue! The riding school contacted Desk Centre several months ago to ask for help with their storage needs. we supplied the school with a number of cupboards which have transformed their working environment. We have since agreed to help furhter and will be voluntering our services to help re-decorate the holiday accommodation. Clatterbridge Cancer Campaign Our commitment to this charity continues with membership to their "100" club. Desk Centre will also be out and about later in the year, watch this space for details.
